Nicole Maloney is a photographic artist and author (Rare, 2008; Romeo Loves Juliet, 2011; Much Ado, 2011) on a mission to change the world one photograph at a time. Nicole graduated UCLA with a B.A. in Communication Studies. Nicole immediately ventured into the world of fashion in Paris at Parsons School Design but returned to the States to spend the next seven years working in the entertainment industry at Sony Studies. Nicole launched her own interactive start-up and patented a technology called ‘simul-sports’. Nicole’s photographic art career followed and in a few years’ time has been exhibited at the San Diego Museum of Art, Celebrity Vault (Beverly Hills), Greenhouse (New York), Cisco Home (Los Angeles), White Gallery & Big Mountain Ski Resort (Whitefish, MT). Nicole’s current work, the OOMO Cube, is installed in front of the Japanese American National Museum in downtown Los Angeles and represents a citywide public art campaign created by Nicole. In 2009, Nicole entered her first two photography contests and won the PDN (Photo District News) FACES contest and the Art of Photography contest judged by LACMA curator, Charlotte Cotton.
Nicole is active in her community; she is on the board of Mattel’s Children Hospital UCLA and Children Mending Hearts; she is a volunteer for other various causes; and she runs her own family foundation.
